You can currently connect and post to 3 platforms via CopyStream, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
For LinkedIn, you can connect both a personal page and a company page.
For Facebook and Instagram, Meta only allows you to connect and post to a business page and these will need to be linked to your Meta Suite.
To connect a Facebook or Instagram business page, you must first connect your Meta Business account to CopyStream.
Here is a detailed step by step guide to connecting your accounts, including how to create and connect a Meta Business account.
You can currently post to LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram using Copy Stream. You will need to connect at least one of these before you can create or schedule any posts. So let’s get that set up!
A few important points to note before we continue with set up:
You can only connect one profile/page per platform currently (this will be extended within the next couple of weeks)
For LinkedIn, you can connect a Profile and a Page, but you will need to connect a Profile before you are able to connect a Page.
Facebook and Instagram are both owned by Meta, who require you to connect a Meta Business Account before you can connect your Facebook and Instagram pages (explained below).
Meta only allows you to connect and post to a Facebook Business Page, not a personal profile so you will need to ensure you have a Facebook Business Page before you can connect Facebook.
Head to Settings in your left hand menu within Copy Stream and click on the Social Platforms tab.
Here you will see there are two tabs, one for LinkedIn and one for Meta (Facebook and Instagram).
Now we need to connect your accounts to get started:
Connecting to LinkedIn
You have the option to connect a LinkedIn Profile and a LinkedIn page, but as mentioned above, you will need to connect a profile before you can connect a page (for example if you wanted to just post to your business page).
Step 1: Click the Connect Profile button. This will bring up a LinkedIn sign in page, where you will need to enter your LinkedIn account login details then click sign in. That should work straight away and you will be able to tell this is connected as now, instead of Connect Profile, it will say Unlink Profile and it will show your profile image.
Step 2: Follow this step if you would like to post to a specific LinkedIn Page, for example a business page. You will need to ensure you have admin permissions for this page before continuing. Click Connect Page, it should bring up a list of any LinkedIn pages you manage, just select the one you want to post to. This should connect straight away and again will show Unlink Profile and will display the page image.
That’s all you need to do to connect LinkedIn, you will now be able to schedule and post to the accounts you have connected.
Connecting to Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
Facebook and Instagram are both owned by Meta and Meta require that you Connect a Meta Business Account, before connecting the specific platform pages.
Note: You will need to have your Facebook and Instagram pages already connected within a Meta Business Account to continue with these steps. If you do not - scroll to the bottom of this page and follow the relevant steps in our troubleshooting section. Once complete, you can continue with the below steps.
First, head to the to the Meta tab (next to the LinkedIn tab).
Click the Connect an Account Button. If you are managing accounts, you may get an option here asking you to switch accounts, click continue here.0
Next it will ask you to select the business portfolio you’d like to connect to, select the appropriate one and continue,
You will then be asked to choose the pages you want Copy Stream to access, select the appropriate one here and click continue.
Next you will be asked to select the Instagram page you want to connect, select and continue.
Check the permissions and got it.
Next you will need to connect the Facebook Page and Instagram Profile you would like to connect. Note there are 2 tabs here, one for Facebook and one for Instagram, so be sure to click select on both if you would like to connect both. They will turn grey once selected.
Once you have selected the required ones, click done.
This should have connected your Meta Account as well as your Facebook and Instagram pages.
I don’t have a Meta Business Account
Type in to your search engine toolbar business.facebook.com
You can create an account using a Facebook or Instagram account you already have, or create a new account.
Once you have done that you will be able to claim your Facebook/Instagram business accounts or add any new ones if you want to do this.
Instagram:
Firstly you will need to switch your Instagram page from a standard to a professional page if you have not already done this. To do this go to your profile - settings - settings and privacy - professionals - account type and tools. Here you will see the option to switch to a professional account. Here you will have the option to select between Creator and Business (select which is more appropriate for you), next you will need to select your industry, then confirm you are switching to a business account. You can then choose to add business info or just select done use and then select done.
Facebook:
Next you will need to go to your relevant Facebook account, click you your profile icon in the top right to bring up the menu bar and click Meta Business Suite. You’ll see near the top of this page under the name you have a connect to Instagram button - you’ll just need to enter your login details and click connect.
You should then be able to see both accounts connected within your Meta Business Account.
